Frequently Asked Questions:

Is there a course time limit

Yes; 12 hours. You will not be forced to stop at this time but aid stations will close and finish line support will begin to wrap up at 7:00 pm. If there is enough interest, we may start a group earlier than 7:00 am. Please email us if you would like to start prior to 7:00 am.

Can I wear headphones?

Due to insurance requirements, headphones will not be allowed.

How Many Aid Stations will there be?

50K – mile 7, 13, 19 and 25
60K – 50K stations plus mile 31
70K – 60K stations plus mile 37
80K – 70K stations plus mile 44

What will be served at the Aid Stations?

Water, sports drink, bagels and/or donuts, fruit, sweets, band aids, vaseline. If you have suggestions please send us an email

What about the unfinished portion of the route?

Currently, there is a short section of the route that is not complete. This section will connect the downtown greenway to the Metro Center Levee Greenway. Metro Parks hopes to have construction complete by September. If it’s not complete by race day, we’ll figure out an alternative route. Stay tuned for more details

If I sign up for the 60K, 70K or 80K can I drop down during the race?

Yes. If you want to drop down to the 50K, you must decide at mile 19. However, you can decide at the very last minute that you want to drop down to the 70K or 60K because the 50 mile passes the finish line at both of those distances.

Will there be a group that starts early in order to make the cut off time?

Yes, if there are enough interested runners.

What if I don’t like running on pavement?

A small percentage of the run is on grass trails. Also, most of the greenways have a grass “shoulder” on the side of the paved area. There are certain areas where pavement is unavoidable.

Is it 80K or 50 miles?

It’s actually 50 miles.

Are there many hills?

There is one fairly steep hill around mile 5.5. And both ends of the Shelby Bridge are pretty steep (mile 16.5 and mile 27.5). There are a few other rolling hills but the corse is relatively flat. I hope to have elevation charts on the website soon.
